Thank-you for teaching me how to use chop-sticks

Dear Ryan,

It has been 3 months since we broke up and I want to get something off my chest. When I broke your heart you asked why and I said it was because we were just too different and it was finally starting to show. You asked if it was because I had met someone else and I said no. But truth is I had, it was who you suspected as well. He wasn’t the reason we broke up, I had been thinking about doing it for a long time but was not motivated enough to do anything about it. That is what our relationship did to me.

I used to be adventurous and always wanting to try new things and meet new people and to be honest that was the main reason we broke up. You were so happy to just keep living your same old little life, not going out and experiencing all that the world had to offer. I know it sounds harsh, but that was the main difference between us, and that is something that i couldn’t live my life with anymore. I am writing this letter to say that I am sorry I did not tell you the full truth. Breaking up with you was the most horrible thing I have done in my life, but I think we are both better for it. At least I know I am.

Thank-you though for a wonderful two years and teaching me how to use chop sticks properly. You were also so kind and nice, so nice, and I’m sorry that I managed to upset you so much. I hope that some day we can be friends and even though that’s looking unlikly right now, I hope that time can heal things between us.

I’m sorry you sound kind of like a jerk. Maybe it is because this is basically what my ex did to me (i.e. break my heart, imply they had been thinking about it for a while, lie, and subsequently blame shit on me). But good for you for being happy with your choice…
